At Heartworks, learning isn’t hidden—it’s shared.
Our teachers document children’s experiences through documentation boards. These boards capture the story behind the learning, helping families see not just what children did, but how they thought, explored, and grew.
Documentation boards may include:
- A project title, theme, or guiding question
- Teacher narration describing the experience and skills explored
- Learning standards connected to classroom plans
- Photos showing the learning process from start to finish
- Children’s words and reflections
- Finished work or evidence of learning
Displayed in classrooms and updated regularly, documentation boards invite families into their child’s learning journey and help children reflect on their own ideas and accomplishments.
Staying connected every day
We know how important it is for families to feel connected to their children.
Heartworks uses a secure parent communication app to share:
- Daily updates about classroom learning
- Photos of children learning and having fun!
- Messages from teachers and school leadership
- Important school announcements and reminders
Extending learning beyond the classroom
Heartworks shares family resources and learning ideas designed to support play, creativity, and curiosity at home. These resources help families build on classroom learning in simple, meaningful ways that fit into everyday life.
We also share family resources and guidance designed to support children’s social, emotional, and developmental growth at home. These resources help families better understand their child’s stage of development and offer thoughtful strategies for navigating everyday moments, building connection, and supporting emotional well‑being.
Our approach is rooted in empathy, consistency, and collaboration—recognizing that children grow best when families and educators are aligned and supported.
Through shared resources and ongoing communication, we help families feel confident, informed, and connected as their child continues learning and growing beyond the classroom.

Through Parent Partnership Groups, Heartworks school teams meet regularly with families to:
