Toddler Classrooms at Heartworks
A Safe, Cozy Environment for Your Baby’s First Discoveries
6 weeks to 15 months
A baby’s first year is a time of extraordinary growth—physically, emotionally, and cognitively. Our infant classrooms are intentionally designed as peaceful, home‑like spaces filled with developmentally appropriate materials that invite exploration without over-stimulation.
Soft textures, gentle lighting, and open floor areas allow infants to move freely and safely as they begin to roll, crawl, reach, and sit. Every element of the environment supports comfort, security, and confidence—laying the groundwork for lifelong learning.
Growing Minds and Moving Bodies
Learning in infancy happens through relationships, movement, and meaningful play. At Heartworks, our educators support early cognitive development by engaging infants in responsive interactions that build memory, recognition, problem‑solving skills, and an understanding of cause and effect.
We place a strong emphasis on physical development as well. With open, uncluttered spaces and no stationary devices, infants are encouraged to strengthen both fine and gross motor skills—from grasping and reaching to crawling and sitting upright. These early movements help build coordination, body awareness, and confidence.
Natural Movement = Natural Learning
At Heartworks, we believe that movement is one of the earliest and most powerful ways infants learn. That’s why our infant classrooms are designed to give children the space and freedom to safely explore their world—at their own pace.
We don’t place infants into forced positions, and we don’t rely on bouncers, gates, or restrictive equipment. Instead, we create open, thoughtfully prepared environments where babies are free to roll, reach, stretch, crawl, and move naturally.
These early movements aren’t just physical milestones—they are how infants build body awareness, problem‑solving skills, confidence, and curiosity. When babies are free to move, they are free to learn through discovery.
Strong Bonds, Secure Attachments
Infants thrive when they feel safe, seen, and deeply connected. Our educators prioritize consistent, loving relationships, responding to each child with warmth, attentiveness, and care. These secure attachments form the emotional foundation children need to explore their world with confidence.
By working closely with families, we establish daily routines that closely mirror your baby’s schedule at home—supporting smooth transitions, emotional security, and trust between home and school.
Early Communication and Language Development
Even before they can speak, infants are powerful communicators. In our language‑rich infant classrooms, educators engage babies through talking, singing, reading, facial expressions, and simple sign language.
Through these daily interactions, infants begin to develop early communication skills, listening awareness, and emotional expression—building the foundation for later language and literacy development.
Sensory Exploration that Sparks Curiosity
Babies learn about the world through their senses. Our infant program incorporates gentle sensory experiences—including textures, sounds, visuals, and movement—that help infants make sense of their surroundings and strengthen early brain connections.
Each experience is thoughtfully chosen to support exploration while honoring each child’s individual comfort level and developmental pace.
Partnering With Families Every Step of the Way
At Heartworks, we believe early education is a partnership. We work closely with families to support each child’s unique needs, sharing daily insights and milestones so you always feel connected to your baby’s day.
Our goal is to create a seamless, supportive experience—where children, parents, and educators grow together.
