Preschool Nature Play

Kindergarten Readiness Starts

At Heartworks, our Preschool and Pre-K classrooms are designed to feel like the bridge between early childhood and Kindergarten. We build Kindergarten-readiness skills through structured routines and personalized learning. Children practice following routines, expressing ideas, working in groups, and taking responsibility—all while still learning through play.

A Confident Step Towards Kindergarten

Heartworks’ Preschool and Pre-K programs are purposefully designed to prepare children for Kindergarten—without leaving the place where they already feel safe, known, and supported. They’ve grown up in our infant and toddler rooms and are now ready to learn how school works.

Teachers Working

Our Preschool and Pre-K children learn skills they’ll need every day in Kindergarten

  • Manage their belongings independently
  • Follow consistent daily routines
  • Transition confidently between activities
  • Practice turn-taking, problem-solving, and listening
  • Listen, wait, and participate in group moments
  • Work in small groups for longer periods of time
  • Build early literacy and math skills that form a strong foundation for their next big step
Child Centric

What your child is learning now matters—today and for the years ahead.

Our Preschool and Pre-K programs at Heartworks aren’t “just daycare.” They are intentionally designed educational foundations meant to build confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.

Happy Playing

Our age-appropriate curriculum supports Kindergarten readiness through:

  1. Predictable Routines

Consistent daily flows that mirror Kindergarten, including arrival routines, responsibility for personal belongings, and visual schedules with icons and words they can understand and follow.

  1. Purposeful Transitions

Gentle, supportive transitions using multi-step directions, visual cues, and time warnings to help children feel calm and capable.

  1. Growing Independence

Opportunities for children to build autonomy through managing personal tasks, practicing self-regulation, and participating confidently in group learning.

  1. Learning That Excites

Hands-on experiences that support early literacy, math, problem-solving, and collaboration—so learning feels engaging, not forced.

Afternoon Enrichment Through STEAM

Our Preschool and Pre-K classrooms include an afternoon enrichment program that introduces Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM). Each day focuses on one STEAM area, thoughtfully blended with our core classroom values of sharing, respect, courtesy, and listening.

Toddler Art Project

Through fun, creative experiences, children are encouraged to:

  • Make predictions and develop hypotheses
  • Ask questions and explore ideas
  • Imagine, design, and build
  • Collaborate with peers and express creativity

At Heartworks, Kindergarten readiness isn’t rushed—it’s nurtured. And it begins with a program that understands who your child is today, and who they’re becoming next.
