Toddler Classrooms at Heartworks
Confident Movers, Curious Thinkers, Growing Hearts
Ages 15 months to 2.9 years
The toddler years are filled with motion, questions, independence, and big emotions—and at Heartworks, we celebrate every part of this extraordinary stage. Our Toddler Classrooms are designed to support children as they explore who they are, how their bodies move, and how they connect with others and the world around them.
Serving children from approximately 15 months to 2.9 years, our toddler program blends hands‑on discovery, guided learning, and meaningful relationships to create joyful, engaging early learning experiences.
Learning Through Movement and Exploration
Toddlers learn best by doing—and they are always on the move. At Heartworks, we create environments that encourage children to run, climb, stack, build, balance, and explore, giving them the freedom to learn through active discovery.
Through open‑ended play, sensory experiences, and hands‑on materials, toddlers develop early problem‑solving skills, creativity, and imagination. At the same time, daily opportunities for movement support both gross motor development—such as jumping and climbing—and fine motor growth through drawing, manipulating tools, and building with intention.
Natural Movement Is Natural Learning
We believe movement isn’t just physical—it’s foundational to learning. Our toddler classrooms are thoughtfully designed to give children the space and freedom to move safely and confidently throughout the day.
There are no forced positions or unnecessary restrictions. Instead, toddlers are encouraged to follow their instincts as they explore their environment, strengthen coordination, and build independence. Every step, stretch, and climb supports growing confidence, body awareness, and self‑trust—key building blocks for lifelong learning.
Independence, Confidence, and Social‑Emotional Growth
As toddlers begin to assert independence, they also start learning how to navigate emotions, relationships, and boundaries. At Heartworks, our educators create a supportive, responsive environment where children feel safe expressing themselves and trying new things.
Through guided interactions, cooperative play, and consistent routines, toddlers practice empathy, communication, and self‑regulation. These early social‑emotional skills help children build strong relationships and a positive sense of self—both now and in the years ahead.
Language, Literacy, and Big Ideas
Language development blossoms during the toddler years. Our classrooms are rich with conversation, songs, stories, and books, supporting vocabulary growth and early communication skills.
Educators engage toddlers in meaningful dialogue throughout the day, encouraging them to express ideas, ask questions, and build confidence using their voices. These literacy‑rich experiences lay the foundation for future reading, writing, and learning success.
Creative Play and Curious Discovery
Toddlers are natural explorers, and our program offers endless opportunities for creativity and discovery. Art, sensory play, building, and nature‑based experiences invite children to experiment, imagine, and learn through hands‑on engagement.
Each activity is thoughtfully designed to spark curiosity while supporting cognitive growth, problem‑solving, and joyful exploration—helping toddlers grow into confident, capable learners.
Partnering With Families
At Heartworks, we believe families are essential partners in early learning. Our educators work closely with parents to share insights, celebrate milestones, and support each child’s unique development.
We’re here to answer questions, offer guidance, and ensure you feel connected to your child’s experience every step of the way.
