The Toddler Classroom

Toddler care at our schools combines active, hands-on exploration with intentional guidance, encouraging little ones to discover themselves, connect with others, and engage with the world in joyful and purposeful ways.

Child Learning

Ages 15 months to 2.9 years

The toddler years are a time of incredible growth and discovery. At this age, children begin to assert independence, explore the world around them, and develop key skills. Toddlers are learning to communicate more effectively, form relationships, and navigate new physical and cognitive challenges. At Heartworks, our toddler program is specifically designed to support this critical (and busy!) stage of development, providing an environment where curiosity is encouraged, movement is celebrated, and social skills are nurtured.

Confident explorers & budding thinkers

Toddlers learn by engaging with the world—and they’re always in motion! Our program is built to support both their cognitive growth and physical development through hands-on activities, playful interactions, and abundant opportunities to discover. From stacking and scribbling to running and climbing, little ones are continually strengthening essential thinking and movement skills.

We foster imagination and early reasoning through creative play, problem-solving challenges, and sensory experiences. At the same time, we promote gross motor growth with safe areas for jumping, balancing, and active play, while building fine motor abilities through carefully chosen tools and materials. Together, these experiences nurture independence, boost confidence, and make learning joyful at every stage.

Independent thinkers, expanding hearts

Your toddler is beginning to understand who they are—and we’re here to guide and celebrate that growth. Our program is crafted to encourage autonomy, ignite curiosity, and strengthen early social-emotional skills. As children explore their feelings, practice self-expression, and build relationships, we provide a nurturing setting that promotes empathy, cooperation, and self-assurance.

This stage is also full of rapid language growth, and we support it with engaging stories, music, books, and rich conversations. Our literacy-focused environments help toddlers broaden their vocabulary, refine communication skills, and start sharing big ideas with their growing voices.

We offer countless chances for creativity and exploration as well. Sensory activities, art experiences, building projects, and time in nature invite children to connect with the world through hands-on, imaginative play—laying the foundation for critical thinking and joyful discovery. With our thoughtful curriculum and daily experiences, your toddler is gaining the skills to become a compassionate, inquisitive, and confident learner.

Hear from our families

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Heartworks Williston! My daughter has been coming here since she was about 8 months old and she is now 4 1/2. All of the teachers have been wonderful there! It is a wonderful community and we couldn't be happier.

We adore Heartworks Williston! The patience and kindness of each Preschool teacher, the thoughtful and caring curriculum, the art projects, the French classes, the social-emotional learning lessons...the community of families...I could go on and on! My son comes home happy every day. Heartworks has exceeded all of my expectations for a preschool experience for our almost-kindergartener!

We have only been at Loveworks for a few weeks but we feel very comfortable leaving our little one with Faith and Riley in the infant room. They are both warm and loving teachers, and it’s clear they care for the infants as if they were their own. We also really like Melanie, the director. She is very friendly and welcoming, and responds promptly to any questions or emails. It’s hard to leave your baby in the care of someone else, but we are really happy with Loveworks!

Our 4 year old son has been attending loveworks since he was 4 months old and our new little guy started a few months ago. All of the teachers are fabulous. Fin and Josie have created a loving and fun learning preschool environment that our son is thriving in. The infant room teachers are caring and friendly, we know our baby is happy and loved!

Our family absolutely loves Heartworks. Our first child has been attending since she was 4 months old. We feel so lucky to send our kids to Heartworks. All of the teachers have been nurturing, caring, and professional. Our daughter has blossomed under their care. So excited for our second child to have the Heartworks experience too.
